Africa isn't poor, it is rich continent with huge natural resources. Africa is actually bigger than North America.

African entire continent population is over 1.5 billion and GDP only 3trillion dollars.

North Africam entire continent has 650 million population with GDP over 35 trillions dollars.

Africa has huge natural resources

Africa holds:

~30–40% of the world’s mineral resources

~90% of global platinum & chromium

~60–70% of cobalt (critical for batteries)

Massive gold, diamonds, uranium

Huge oil & gas reserves (Nigeria, Libya, Algeria, Angola)

Enormous arable land + freshwater potential

Rare earths increasingly being discovere

Don't forget that great ecosystem and animals that attract huge tourism.

So why Africans are still poor?

First) the Sahara Desert:this is one of the biggest reason, it separated fast knowledge exchange between africana and Eurasians which slowed industrial or cultural revolution.

Second)The answer is biological and also environmental.

Lack of nutritions actually damage brain which slows innovation and invention. Modern africana suffer from lack of nutrition and less technological exposure which cause high brain stress and damage.

Third) corruption and lack of unity. Africans highly lack unity.

So overall Africa is stuck in a loop of misfortune. We don't know how future holds for them.
